Baa Baa Black Sheep

Last weekend (well just a day ago), I visited The Black Sheep Gathering...not once, but twice. If I could have a room full of rovings (see here if you don't know what I'm talking about) to just squish into anytime I felt poorly, life would be better than great. Here are some pictures of winning yarn-creations:
Needlepoint felted purses. I love the  Chicken!

Jellyfish...was about 3ft tall

Awwwww...tiny but looked so real

cute scene
But I didn't leave unscathed; I walked away with my share of skeins. I have already started one creation (see below) out of a merino/cashmere blend. It's going to be a capped-sleeve cardigan. I am knitting on size 3 needles which are the smallest I have ever knit a sweater on before. It is knitting up so fine; I can't wait to wear it.
Not's that all I've been up to though. Yesterday I went to school to work on curriculum with my fellow teachers. As un-fun as that sounds, it was actually enjoyable and I wish we had more time to collaborate like that. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that I don't have to go back to work again today. It wasn't that fun...
I also have done a little a sewing. I took some prints of my husband's and turned them into pillows for our deck furniture. The ship in the storm (far back) is my favorite, but I think they all look pretty darn cool. My husband, of course, doesn't approve of any of them, but that is because he is too modest about his artwork. I think he's awesome ( I am married to him after all).

Now what does today hold? Probably some curriculum planning and knitting...possibly gardening if the rain lets up.
